Since its inception, AU Associates, Inc., has developed multiple award wining properties in Kentucky and West Virginia. These developments include affordable housing for seniors, families and special needs communities. AU has also developed commercial projects spanning the adaptive re-use of an 1898 Richardsonian Courthouse to the new construction of a farm to table restaurant.
Each of These developments serve the communities in which they are located due to innovative thinking, creative solutions to both financial and architectural challenges, and serving the needs for which they were developed.
AU Associates was founded in 1990 on the principals of adaptive use and has focused on opportunities for urban infill, as well as the revitalization of existing structures.
President & Owner
Holly Wiedemann, founding principal and President of AU Associates, Inc., earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Duke University and Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design and Land Use Planning from the University of Georgia. She has been responsible for a wide range of projects throughout her career. She has specifically worked in the renovation, creation, adaptive reuse, and development of affordable housing since 1986. She serves on multiple boards including Lexington Center/Rupp Arena Board, the Cleveland Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank, National Housing and Rehabilitation Association, the Triangle Foundation and Fayette Alliance
Director of Development
Johan Graham joined AU Associates, Inc. in April of 2006 as the Financial Manager. While involved in all aspects of project conceptualization and development, his primary responsibilities revolve around structuring, underwriting, syndicating and monitoring AU’s current and future portfolio of LIHTC and Historic Tax Credit projects. He is a 2000 graduate of Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky with a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology and a 2002 graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Masters in Regional Planning with a focus on Affordable Housing, Real Estate, and Community Development. Prior to joining AU Associates, Johan worked as a Project Development Officer at Community Affordable Housing Equity Corporation (CAHEC), a tax credit syndicator, and was responsible for over $70 million in Low-Income Housing and Historic Tax Credit equity investments totaling over 1,100 units in Kentucky, West Virginia, and North Carolina.
Director of Property Management
Since re-joining AU Associates, Inc. in January of 2003, Martha has served as Office Administrator, Project Manager, Director of Operations, and now currently serves as the company’s Director of Property Management. Martha initially became interested in AU’s work during an internship while obtaining her B.S. in Business Administration and Communication Arts from Georgetown College. Upon graduating, she gained several experiences in marketing, product management, and information technology before returning to AU. Her duties and responsibilities include overseeing AU’s portfolio of properties including the property management and maintenance staff, daily operations, and all property compliance.
Lynn Jones joined AU Associates in December of 2015 as the Controller. Lynn is a CPA with over 15 years of experience combined in public accounting and the accounting industry. Lynn graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from Campbellsville University in 1999 and then earned a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky in 2005, while working in the accounting industry. Lynn’s varied experience brings a broad range of financial accounting expertise to the team at AU Associates.
